I realize this is a tad old (in our new instantaneous news-generating world), but it is nonetheless worth sharing. Film-maker Sean Stiegemeier captured footage of Eyjafjallajökull erupting on May 1st and 2nd and set the timelapse to Iceland’s own Jónsi (lead singer for Sigur Rós). The result is breath-taking.

We on Earth have just awakened to the great oceans of space and time from which we have emerged. We are the legacy of 15 billion years of cosmic evolution.
